The Wolery
In which it is named "The Wolery" and why.
I have, as long as I can remember been a huge fan of A.A.Milne's "Winnie the Pooh"
Before you pass judgement, reflect on Mr Milne's words;
"I didn't write for children", he said "but for the child in everyone"
Christopher Robin couldn't spell very well so for "Owls house"
he wrote the sign The Wolery instead of the Owlery
The connection to the cottage apart from my love of the stories
is that the loft is home to an Wol or 2 and everywhere is covered in Wol poo
I even think the terrain looks a little like the 100Aker wood in places,
It has the big Pine tree 'In whichTiggers find they can't climb,'
It has the floody place, the big lake behind the house
Poohs trap for heffalumps is the disused and filled in well
and it even has Eeyores gloomy spot at the far end.
So there you have it. "The Wolery"
I dont suppose the French will get it or even be able to say it but I like it....
From each end of the garden
You can just see the shed at the far end of the first picture
and the second is looking back from the shed to the house
A nice well in the garden is a bonus and although not OUR lake
we can see it from the fence at the back of the house
The house with half the garden mowed
and the little barn to the right of the house
"OH LOOK A CHRISTMAS TREE" she said
until she found the outside "dunny" under it too!!!
The interior is starting to look nice and tidy as the owners remove all the old furniture
Bottom left in front of the door is the old sink, too low to use I think but I dont think I have the heart to remove it
Caught it in the snow today 19:Dec 2009.
Just had to go and look
