About Us
After living in the little village in Kent called St Margaret's at cliffe for 8 years we decided we wanted a change from the UK way of life and get back to living a real life, so what better place to go than our neighbouring France where the pace of life was slower and more relaxing and the people were down to earth and caring
Logistically it was now or never, we have just adopted our 2 long term foster children David and Neasha. Neasha would be going into senior school and Tyler would be entering a year of mock exams if we had left it any longer.
We as a family had become disenchanted with the UK but there is no point listing it, as it will only sound like we are winging, suffice to say your life is not your own anymore everyone wants to be in everyone else's life and not take responsibility for their own.
Anyway we decided we could make a better life somewhere else, somewhere where the kids could be kids without the pressures from UK schooling and UK Peers. Without the drugs and something for nothing mentality..
We purchased our house in April 2004 and moved to it on the 26th of August.
The kids had a week before they started their new school..
We had not managed to sell `Smalldowns' so we had to live off our saving as long as possible not knowing how quickly it would go.
As you can see with the photos we had our work cut out just getting in to the place.
It actually took until November to clear enough of the weeds and trees to see they house
It felt like our new life had started…
Kids loved their schools we loved our house
It became known as “Paix d'esprit” “Peace of mind”

ITS NOW FOR SALE
After nearly 5 years here we have decided to move on as usual its mainly because of the kids, well "no longer kids"
Tyler has passed all his exams and moved on to 4 star Hoteliery, at this time in the FRENCH ALPS
David is now serving an apprentiship as a Butcher in the Local supermarket
Neasha is the only one left and she stays in Limoges at school most of the time
We are going to look for something smaller preferably to restore and a little mill house with water running close by
YES I AM GOING TO START ALL OVER AGAIN!!!
